https://www.barbarabush.org/events/dallas-celebration-of-reading/Have you ever heard of the Indian holiday called Diwali?
Diwali is November 7th this year. According to National Geographic Kids, "Diwali is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. The festival gets its name from the row(avali) of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness. This festival is as important to Hindus as the Christmas holiday is to Christians."
Lights Fest
I cannot help but notice the timing of the following festival. It is called the Festival of Lights and the website describes it as "What happens when you combine thousands of families, friends, and foodies, with live music, dancing, and an eruption of Sky Lanterns? Welcome to the Lights Fest, an experience where thousands of friends and families gather to listen to live music, fill up on great food, and light up life by sharing their personal wishes, dreams and goals." This festival coincides with the date of the, aformentioned, Diwali holiday, and it would be a wonderful way to celebrate this holiday that also means a festival of lights.

Stop the presses! I got an email recently from LISD's Jody Rentfro with the "secret menu" for Google Slides, Docs, Drawings and more at https://wp.me/p3bT67-2a8 via @jmattmiller - as Martha Stewart would say, "It's a good thing!"
If you are looking for images for your presentations, etc. - I have a new fav site! It is called Unsplash. Go to https://unsplash.com/ for royalty free images that are simply gorgeous.
