The email address above may be used for all communication with the school about attendance: to verify absences and tardies, to send doctor’s notes, and to request early dismissals. Contact with school via handwritten notes or phone calls are also acceptable to verify absences.
School attendance in Virginia is compulsory and supports your child’s goal of academic success and on-time graduation.
Students should miss no more than 9 days of school each year to stay engaged, successful and on track to graduation. Students who are chronically absent (18 days or more per year, or an average of 2 days absent per month) are less likely to experience academic success. attendanceworks.org
