The Bear Necessities

December 3, 2015

I was given the opportunity to meet with the LS Education Foundation Board to talk about the 10 year celebration. I want to share with you some of the things I heard from the Board Members who were able to attend that night, because, well, it was amazing!!

The comments included things like: "The passion for their work is so strong, it was moving to hear all of the things they do to make sure kids learn, the culture of that group is stunning, their care is so significant that I wish all kids could experience it". The one that was repeated was this "The care/passion that staff showed for their work just can't be faked, it was real, so deep". The reviews were simply overwhelming to hear, I so wish I had it a video for you to watch, it was moving. The LS Education Foundation Board Members wanted me to share with you how very thankful they are for the work you do with families and children here in LS. They felt very proud to be a part of a community that housed such a powerful program.

Your work is hard, but the power of what you do is just so deep, THANK YOU!!

Jill spoke to PAT about the opportunities for attuned relationship during diaper changing time. I know it takes time, but it is a great opportunity.

NEE Network for Educator Effectiveness (or the evaluation tool for teachers)

We wanted to make you aware that we would like to see you during a structured instructional time on your schedule. NEE would tell us that we should be able to walk into the classroom at ANY time and see instruction happening. So, I encourage you to make the most of every instructional minute with these little learners and know that we may be observing you during less traditional instructional times (recess/snack/centers). For some of you, there is no challenge here, you already do this very naturally, but for others, you will need to work to ensure that each activity in your classroom benefits students in their learning.

Sage/Country Meadows/Crossroads/Hope House Love and Logic Parenting Class

The next one begins January 20 and runs through February 17th. I will place the registration forms (green) in the mail room. PLEASE encourage your families living in these areas to attend. I speak to each group that begins and I know that they have quality babysitting for free, a fabulous dinner for free and a great really is an amazing opportunity. The parents also seem to build some new friendships during this experience.

A recommendation from you may be all it takes to get them enrolled, take time to reach out and make a difference for those little ones in your classroom.

Love and Logic for everyone else

Love and Logic Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun begins January 14th. These registration forms are blue and there is a cost for this program. They do offer no cost childcare, but space is limited. These will be in your mailbox. **Remember, if you ever have a family who wants to attend Love and Logic and cannot afford it, there are scholarships available, so encourage them to apply.

Holiday Party Opportunity for a family who could benefit

We have the opportunity to choose 4 families to have a "Play it Forward" party at Paradise Park.
