Roadrunners, Let's Stay Connected

Crystal Springs Elementary School

The Weekly Wrap by Principal Nielsen- September 18th

Dear Crystal Springs Families,

What a wonderful week! It was incredible seeing so many of you at the Curriculum Nights this week. If you were unable to attend, please ask your child's teacher for the recording of the night. I hope all of your questions were answered, if not, please let me know how I can help you. The staff at Crystal Springs appreciates your support, we could not do this without you. We hope to see you all next Friday, September 25th, during the car parade through your neighborhood!

I hope you all have an excellent weekend!

Sincerely,

Anne Nielsen- Principal

Highly Capable Testing

This is a message from the Northshore Highly Capable Department.

We want to remind you that we are currently accepting referrals for highly capable testing for the 2020-2021 school year. Eligibility would begin in the 2021-2022 school year. Our referral window closes Friday, October 16th. We intend to universally screen grades K, 1, and 5. If your child qualifies for testing after they are universally screened, we will need your permission to test for highly capable services. Below is a link to our website for testing and referral information.

If your student is currently single qualified (ie: reading OR math only), we need your permission to test them in the second content area. If your student is NOT currently qualified in either content area, we need your permission to screen AND test (grades 2, 3, 4, 6, and 7).

If you are a dual qualified student, you do NOT need to refer your student. You are already qualified. You also do NOT need to complete the permission to participate form if you have already done so for this calendar year.

As always, please feel free to send any questions to our email at hicap@nsd.org

A note from David Lammers- school counselor

Mr. Lammers is available to support students who have social or emotional needs. Parents, please email him directly, or go to his website (https://sites.google.com/apps.nsd.org/lammers) and fill out a referral form.
