A Communication Tool for the Seven Hills Staff
Transformation in Action Day is Tuesday, October 17:
- Try to post a student celebration on one of the boards that is empty. I know there are so many victories. Take time on Monday to celebrate a student and fill an emotional bank account. I watched a class all walk to the board last week to post a celebration with the friend. VERY POWERFUL...for the student being celebrated and their peers! When students are celebrated they can receive a Whataburger certificate and a "Great Habits Make Great Leaders" spirit stick (both on the shelf in my office).
- Please tidy up your classrooms and halls.
- Make sure all students have their Leadership Notebooks as up to date as possible.
- Make sure Celebration Boards have student work posted.
- Make sure Scoreboards are up and ready so that we can discuss them on tours. WIG statements will be posted for you by the end of the day on Monday.
- Make sure your personal or professional WIGs and Scoreboards are posted as exemplars.
- Observe Me protocol placards that are finished will be posted by the end of the day on Monday.
- Visit with your students about what to do if guests come into the classroom and remind them of our leadership expectations in all locations of the school. It is probably a good time to do a general review anyway.
- Wear "dress blacks" - black pants or skirt and black 7 Hills Polo. No polo? Wear all black.
It's our time to shine!
NISD Learning Cycle: Focus on Literacy
We are currently in the first content learning cycle of the year. This learning cycle has a focus on literacy. Throughout the learning cycle we will be sharing information to support literacy instruction. We will also conduct walk-throughs to gather data on areas of strength and opportunities for growth. We look forward to sharing great instructional strategies and best practices with you in this cycle.
This week, let's think about small group instruction in reading. Which small group approach has the highest leverage for the specific needs (and WIGs) of your students?
Looking to do more with book clubs as a small group instructional strategy?

Homework Hub:
Homework Hub will launch this week!
What is Homework Hub?
Homework Hub is an opportunity from 7:20-7:40 for you students to get additional assistance and or time to complete their homework with staff that do not have a homeroom class. We can listen to reading, practice spelling words, work on math and so much more.
Where do I send students for homework hub?
Homework Hub meets in the cafeteria on the opposite side from where breakfast eats. Students that eat breakfast can get their food and come to HH to begin working. Once the 7:40 bell rings we send students to class.
Homework Hub Help Needed:
If you do not have a homeroom class we would love your support at homework hub! Please sign up using this link under the dates you are available to help.
