ConVal High School Happenings - March 11, 2022
Message From Principal McKillop
It was nice to welcome parents/guardians, other family members, and even some students to our building last night for our second semester Open House. I appreciated greeting and walking visitors to different locations in our building. If you weren't able to join us, please don't hesitate to reach out to your student's teachers with any questions.
Please consider joining us at the high school next week for our Annual Spring Concert. It will begin promptly at 6:30 pm on Tuesday evening in the ConVal gym. More details are noted below. I hope to see you there!
Next Tuesday is also the deadline to sign up for Semester 2 Running Start classes. Please read below to learn more about how to sign up for this free college credit opportunity.
Spring sports registration is now open. If you have any questions regarding how to register on FamilyID, please reach out to Mr. John Reitnauer, our Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities at jreitnauer@conval.edu. I look forward to supporting our students outside and on the playing fields as the weather warms. After all, we are only nine days away from the beginning of Spring!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Heather

On Thursday, ConVal High School held its annual spring Open House. It gave parents and guardians an opportunity to meet with their student's TASC homeroom teacher, classroom teachers, and school counselor.
Parallel to the second semester Open House, parents of incoming students also had an opportunity to visit the school, meet principal McKillop and ATC Director Jen Kiley, and tour the facilities, including the school library and the Applied Technology Center.
McCall Wins American Legion Oratorical Contest
ConVal junior Daniel McCall garnered first place in the District 2 American Legion Oratorical Contest which was held at Post #23 in Milford on Saturday, February 26.
McCall won with a pair of successful speeches, the first on the “Elastic Clause” (also known as the “Necessary and Proper Clause”) in the U.S. Constitution and the second on an assigned topic, which for McCall was the 8th Amendment which prohibits cruel and unusual punishments.
Congratulations, Dan, and good luck at the statewide competition on Saturday!
