Coding Craze!

"Learning to write programs stretches your mind, helps you think better, and creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains." ~ Bill Gates

When people hear the term CODING, they typically picture that to be a skill that should be taught in a computer class and does not benefit the core subjects in any way. That could not be farther from the truth. Coding forces children to think beyond the paper/pencil world of the past and opens up a wealth of opportunities. Developing this skill will also deepen the thought process of our students and provide them valuable skills for life outside of Dewey Public Schools.

So, how do we do it? Here are some apps and websites to incorporate into your class. This is just a small list of resources, so feel free to contact us if you need more!

How about some new add-ons and extensions to try? We'll update this with new ones each week. This week, before we add all sorts of extensions, let's learn about an extension to manage your extensions!

Extensity is an extension that helps you easily turn extensions of and off quickly to assure maximum performance of your browser. To download Extensity, go to the chrome store and add it to Chrome. Then you can click on the Extensity icon to turn extensions and apps on or off with ease!
