Waterford Township School District
Important Message from the Superintendent - January 13, 2021
Dear Parents,
This letter serves as a summary of the information shared during January 12th’s parent meeting. You can access last night's presentation here.
Based on the current data and guidelines from the New Jersey Department of Health, Waterford Township School District will continue to operate in full remote learning mode. Students will return for in-person instruction on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
The District reserves the right to extend remote learning if circumstances warrant it, or in the event that it is required by the State of New Jersey. We will continue to monitor the impact that COVID-19 is having on our school community with the hope of returning prior to February 16th.
In the event that the data becomes more favorable, the district is considering an earlier start date of Monday, February 1st for in-person instruction. If the district opts for the earlier return to in-person instruction, families will be notified by January 27th.
I recognize that this decision continues to present challenges for some students and families. However, the district is making data-driven decisions that follow current guidelines from the NJ Department of Health, in order to ensure the health and safety of our school community.
Please keep the lines of communication open with your student’s teacher and principal so that we may assist you during the period of remote instruction. As always, thank you for your understanding of a very difficult situation.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Brenda Harring
Superintendent
