New Year Open House

We had a great time visiting with prospective families at our open house last weekend. We want to extend a huge thank you to our Student Council and their families for kicking off the event. Great job to Hallie C., Ella M., Elliana M., Marc-Olivier M., Emma R., and Valeria H!


100th Day of School!

We celebrated the 100th day of school this week. Come and see the pictures of our CP students in the hallway. The transformation is astonishing! And what a turnout at Hat Creek! Thanks to all of our families who joined us for this month's Spirit Night. The kids had a blast on the playscape while we enjoyed mingling as a group. Thanks for being part of our community!


French Cultural Attaché Visits AIS!

Yesterday we welcomed Marion Autones, the new Deputy Cultural Attaché in charge of French language and Education, based at the French Consulate in Houston this week. She toured the school and met with the Leadership Team to learn more about our program.


Spring Break Camp Registration Now Open!

Come away with us on a Tropical Paradise adventure as we explore the different cultures of these amazing destinations: El Nido Island, The Philippines, Haiti, Fiji, and Hawaii! Spring Break camp runs 3/23 - 327. Campers will craft, learn, and discover in French, Spanish, & English. Camp is offered from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm with complimentary drop-off from 7:30 and optional after-camp care until 6:00 pm. The camp costs $310 for the week or $80 per day. Daily care is $18/day or $80 for the week. Be on the lookout for an invitation to register next week.


Guess Who!

Did you figure out which baby pictures are our faculty and staff members? If you have a few minutes, take a look at the auditorium wall leading to CP. The kids are all making bets and talking about it!


Valentine's parties-Fri., 2/14, 2:55 - 3:25pm

We look forward to spreading the love with you at next week's class Valentine's parties. Refer to sign-ups and instructions from your classroom room parents. Here's more information below.

  • Parties will start at 2:55 pm with regular dismissal at 3:25 pm.
  • Students may wear Valentine's Day colors (red, white, pink) clothing to school as part of the celebration.
  • If you would like to take your child from their classroom into a sibling's class, please sign out with the room parent so we know that your child is with you and has left the classroom.
  • Please be mindful to leave the classrooms by 3:25.
  • The school will follow a regular dismissal schedule, i.e., kids in Maternelle will be sent to the playground at pick-up time and students in grades CP and up will go to the auditorium.
  • If you plan to leave with your child(ren) after the party, please remember to check them out using your code as usual!
  • After-school activities will proceed as normal and after-school care will still be from 3:25 pm-6:00 pm.


French Bourse Applications Due 2/14

All applications are due back to AIS by February 14th, so make sure to get your packet and complete the documentation soon.


AIS Out & About-Sun., 2/16

Next weekend we will be representing AIS at two events. The Happi Family Camp Fair will be held on Sunday, February 16th at the Norris Conference Center from 1-4 pm. Plus, we will be at Think Bilingual's, I Love Idiomas So Much Festival at the AISD Performing Arts Center, also from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. This festival celebrates love of languages and appreciation of cultural diversity with a schedule of cultural performers. Tickets are free with registration.


9th Annual Art Gala-Sat. 2/22, 6:30 - 11:00 pm

We look forward to celebrating with you and raising funds to support our amazing school at our upcoming 9th Annual Art Gala at the Austin Central Library on Saturday, February 22nd from 6:30 to 11:00 pm. Guests, be on the lookout for sneak peeks of our silent auction items, a preview of the class art projects, (we can hardly wait) and more detailed information coming your way soon!


AIS Talent Show-Thur./Fri., 3/5 - 3/6, 2:00 -3:00 pm

Our student Talent Show will be held on Thursday, March 5th for CP thru CE2 and on Friday, March 6th for CM1 thru 4è. The show will take place in the auditorium from 2:00-3:00pm each day. If your child has a talent, please encourage them to sign up via the Student Council form by Sunday, March the 1st by clicking this link: Talent show 2020.! Be sure students include their name and the title of their talent.


AIS Austin Spurs Night!-Sun. 3/8, 4:00 pm

On Sunday, March 8th, AIS has been invited to cheer on the Austin Spurs as they play the Oklahoma City Blues at the HEB Cedar Park Center. Plus, AIS students will have the opportunity to high five the players as they run out onto the court at halftime! The game starts at 4:00 pm and we hope you can join us. Tickets are available here.
