All sessions are held in the Oak Lab in the Technology Building at the District Office.
Students as Creators - Digital Stories
WeVideo allows students to use their mobile devices to film scenes or take photos, which are then easily uploaded to WeVideo, accessible on any device with an internet connection, where they can edit and publish their finished videos.
In this WeVideo strand, you will gain access to our district WeVideo account to use with your students, learn how to create and edit videos, set up projects for your class, and have time to plan a project and collaborate with other participants.
You must commit to attending all three sessions.
WeVideo #1: Intro to WeVideo

In the first workshop of this strand, you will create an account, learn video basics, film video and upload it to your project, and basic editing.
WeVideo #2: Advanced Features and Setup of Class Projects

In this session, you will learn more advanced features of WeVideo, such as screencasting, greenscreen, etc.
WeVideo #3: Create a Video Project/Lesson

In the final session, you will learn how to set up a class project, and have time to create your own project, from brainstorming ideas, storyboarding, research, planning out a unit, etc. You will be able to collaborate and share ideas with other participants in the session and leave with a complete project ready to assign to your students.

Speaking and listening skills are an important part of the new CCSS standards. When you want to assess your students to check on their progress, it can take up a bunch of time working with individual students, one on one. Using student's cell phones as recording devices will allow you to allow all students to practice, and you can then listen to the recordings outside of class. Create Engaging Review Activities

As the semester is coming to an end, and finals are approaching, you are starting to plan some review activities. Come to this session to learn about some technology tools that you can use with your students to facilitate reviews, where you students will have fun reviewing past material. Please bring some of your current review guides/questions/etc.
SUHSD Digital Educator Certification
In this certification course, offered to educators who have intermediate to advanced tech skills, will develop, teach, and reflect on technology-embedded, standards-aligned learning activities. You will also share instructional strategies and resources with other digital educators through weekly discussions and utilize technology tools to develop and model a digital identity.
