Welborne Word
December 4, 2023, Issue #15
Dear Families,
The Welborne Jingle Bell Walk took place today. Once again our school community demonstrated their generosity through donations to the Partners in Mission Food Bank. Although we had to postpone the Jingle Bell Walk on Friday due to weather conditions, the spirit of the event filled the school.
At this time of year, there are many holidays that are celebrated. Students will be learning about a variety of cultural celebrations that take place both at this time of year and throughout the year. Notably, Thursday, December 7th marks the beginning of Hanukkah this year. Many celebrations at this time of year include lights and/or candles. For this reason, during the week of December 18-21 (Monday to Thursday evening), student artwork will be displayed on outward facing windows and lit with twinkle lights during the evening. Families are invited to walk around the outside of the school after dark on Monday December 18 to Thursday December 21 and enjoy the beautiful artwork that students have created. The students who have classes that face onto one of the courtyards will display their art on the windows in the library, the staff room, and the front doors.
On Tuesday December 19th and Thursday December 21st at 11:40 am, classes will gather in the gym for a holiday sing-along. Some student clubs and classes will be preforming at each of these gatherings. A complete list of performances for each day will be included in the December 11th edition of The Welborne Word so that families can plan to attend if they wish to.
Hot Lunch will be delivered on Friday this week. Hot lunch must be pre-ordered. The order deadline for this week has passed, but if you would like to order for next week, please log in to your School Day account.
If you have any questions, please email us at welba@limestone.on.ca.
Warm regards,
Ms. Fraser, Mrs. Wellwood, and Ms. Hart
