REVISED Back to School August 12, 2020

Welcome Back TMS-E Community!

Dear TMS-E Family,

First, let me thank you for your support and understanding as we, as a school community, responded to the unexpected invasion of COVID-19 in March. I am proud of the way our TMS-E students, parents, faculty, and staff handled the demands we were faced with to protect everyone as we continued to educate our students during the most unusual of circumstances. What I have learned through this experience is how much I appreciate the expertise our teachers bring to TMS-E, the ways in which our students continue to grow and overall, appreciation for the little things in life.

As we plan for a beginning like no other, we have seen in the past, our focus will continue to ensure that every child, every day is finding a way to feel connected and is being challenged by new learning experiences. As a parent and an educator, I know that elementary school years are important and critical times for our students. What happens during these years will have a lasting impression on their growth and development. Together we are engaged in doing, in laughter and in the A-Ha’s of learning. I believe that my background as a teacher and my ongoing role as a parent enables me to understand and meet the needs of both teachers and parents, but ultimately allows me to serve our TMS-E community.

Normal is such a simple word and it is our goal at TMS-E to not only find our new normal but to use this time as a learning experience that will forever impact the learning environment at our school. Our fall may not be “normal,” but our learning will continue, and it will prosper. We cannot wait to see our students, all returning and new students to TMS-E will be welcomed with open arms (from 6 feet away) to our school community!

I am looking forward to serving each one of you as the school year progresses. You will find that my door is always open and I am always here to support you in any possible way.

Best regards,

Preeti Nichani
