Welcome to Mr. Barnett's Class!
8th Grade ELA & Math
About Me
Welcome to my class! I am excited to be working with you this year.
We have a lot to do to get you ready for high school, and I am confident you will be well-prepared when you finish my class. Since I will be learning a lot about you, I thought it only fair that you should know something about me.
Before I became a teacher I owned my own computer business.
I repaired computers, created websites, and consulted with individuals and businesses on how to use technology to their advantage. I am excited that all of you will be able to work with Chromebooks this year!
On a personal note I am happily married to my beautiful wife Rachel.
We have two children together and one of our favorite things to do as a family is to ride bicycles and play board games. We have also been known to play Minecraft and Artemis from time to time.
This will be my first year as an 8th grade ELA and Math teacher at Turtle Bay.
Last year I taught 5th/6th grade Math and Science at Juniper. Prior to that I graduated from the credentialing program at Simpson University.

- Homework
- Classwork/Participation
- Assessments based on the Common Core Standards
Work is expected to be turned in on time. Students with excused absences will be given time to make up assignments as needed.
