Bearcat Praises

Thanks so much to everyone for making this an outstanding week at PPIS!!

Check out the pictures below to see some of the great things we had going on this week!!

Thanks so much to our school board who provided us with the awesome ice machine!!

Thanks to Ms. Nisbett for setting up our campus accounts for Flocabulary. This is a great resource and if you've never used it before be sure to check it out.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out and covered classes for us as we were short on staff due to illness and various trainings taking place. It was no doubt a total team effort!

Thank you 4th grade team for taking a proactive approach to helping contain some of the issues we have been having at recess. I went out on Friday to watch them and they had a relay race set up as well as some type of ball toss :) going on. Needless to say the structure of the activities taking place were great and will definitely help.

Mrs. Loftis loves the new ice machine!

Veterans Day

We have a full schedule of activities on Thursday to honor our Veteran's. Now more than ever we need to educate our kids on the sacrifices that are made by men and women everyday who serve our country and i think we have a great day lined up to show our support on Thursday. Thank you so much to Mrs. Alderson who helped set up the Huey landing on campus and bringing in some heroes to speak to our kids. We also have two more outstanding men (Matt Morris and Tim McFadden) who will be joining up in the afternoon to speak to our kids about their time in the Army and Air Force. We will also be serving a Subway lunch to all veteran's who attend and will have more than enough to feed our staff so please do not bring a lunch that day :)

In Service on Friday

Our in-service hours will be from 8:30am - 3:30pm on Friday. Everyone will meet in library to start the day. We will be going our required trainings for the year to begin the day. At 9am we have a representatives coming in to conduct a brief operational training on our smart boards for those who have one. This will last until approximately 10am. After that, I will be setting up data meetings with our reading teachers to discuss the results from the last curriculum check. Everyone else should use this time to build your semester exam and plan for the final six weeks.

Tech Training Wednesday after school

Don't forget that Dr. Woychesin will be here on Wednesday after school to go over Formative which is a great way to assess your students each day. This training will be for teachers only which means instructional aides are not required to stay.

Be EXCEL Leaders

Please do not forget about our discussion on Wednesday. I promise if you make a commitment to the plan that was laid out it will make a dramatic impact on not only your class but our entire school. If you've let some of the tenets of CKH slip this is a great week to re-institute some of those. Take time for your kids this week to discuss the power of relationships in your class and how they can make a difference shaping the culture of our school.
