FMS Staff Back to School News
August 2nd, 2018
Dear Team FMS,
We have our Book of FMS, which is a book of all things a staff member may need to know, almost finished. We will go over these in-depth with new staff and share via email early next week for returning staff.
Super Shout Out to our amazing custodians! Our building is shining because of the hard work that happened all summer! WOWZA!
August can feel like a month of Sundays at time, but we've gotta tell you we are completely PUMPED to see you all and start another great year with our students. GAME ON!
Sincerely,
Beth and Erica

Data Teaming: Making it Work for Student Success
For those that are planning ahead, wanted to give you some info on our first data team cycle. Please don't stress about this, as we will provide guidance and time to work in our August team meetings. I just know some are already working on lessons and wanted you to know as soon as possible.
What are data teams?
Data Teams are a model for continuous, collaborative action that inspires and empowers professionals to improve teaching, learning, and leadership for all.
Data Teams are small, grade-level, department, course-alike, or organizational teams that examine work generated from a common formative assessment.
Helpful tips for when school starts to get us started:
August 20-24: Advisory lessons will be on the data binder
August 20-21: Pretest first unit
August 22: Team Wednesday focus on Collaborative Scoring (bring pretests)
August 22-24: Collaboratively Score pretest
August 27-28: Feedback to Students to track objectives from pretest to data binder
August 29: Team Wednesday focus on Data Team Cycle
Again, no stress on this...we've got each other's backs and will help support you all along the way!
