Primary Sources in Your Elementary Library - March 23rd
It’s never too early to start your students analyzing primary sources, the raw materials of history. Used effectively, primary sources can be powerful tools to help even the youngest students engage, build critical thinking skills, construct knowledge and develop literacy. This workshop combines hands-on activities and access to online materials as you analyze images, maps, political cartoons, as well as materials in other formats. Whether you are working independently or collaborating with teachers in your school, AnneMarie Walter, assistant director of the Teaching with Primary Sources program at Mars Hill University will share proven strategies for using primary sources across the curriculum.
Participants will want a laptop or tablet for part of the session.
