Time to Turn in Laptops!
To all parents of students who have checked out an FBISD device for remote learning purposes this school year:
This week, we will begin the process of returning district devices to the school. All devices (laptop, ipad, hotspot, chargers) issued to students must be returned to campus on or before the last day of school, June 4th, 2021. Upon return of the device, you will be issued a receipt of return showing proof of device return. Please do not return a device without obtaining a receipt of return.
Beginning today (May 3rd), if your student no longer needs their checked-out device, you may return it to the Travis High School front office at any time during normal business hours (7:00am until 3:00pm). As we proceed through the device collection process, this will be the EASIEST way to return your device to the school and we highly recommend bringing it back at this time. Again, please ensure that you receive your receipt of return before you leave Travis.
As per the Equipment Use Agreement you acknowledged at the time of LLD issuance, your student will be issued a charge for the cost of the device if the device is not returned. Below is a listing of device costs that may be charged if not returned:
Area Champions!
For the second time in school history, you’re Lady Tiger softball team is Area Champions!
On Friday night, the girls used a 5-run 6th inning to ultimately defeat Cy Fair 8-7. Leading the charge in that game was Kacy P, Ariel K, Ashley R, and Rachel Y who had 2 hits a piece. Kennedy C and Riley W both added a hit of their own for the good girls. Kacy P and Riley W both had huge diving catches in the outfield to contribute to the win.
On Saturday, the Lady Tiger bats were hot and helped them win a back-and-forth affair 11-6 and clinch their spot in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Bombs provided by Ariel K and Rachel Y who both had 2-run dingers. Other girls with big hits were Maddie M, Riley W, Emily C, and Lauryn G.
Rachel Y went all 14 innings in the circle striking out 13 Lady bobcats across the two games.
Next round will be a matchup against Katy High School. Details TBA.

As we move forward with plans for a Virtual Learning Program, dependent upon the Texas Legislature’s approval of funding, we want to make you aware that the application is now accessible on the District’s website via Skyward Family Access. Also, we have created a Virtual Learning Program webpage on the District’s site which includes an FAQ, detailed plan, forms, job aids with how-to instructions in English and Spanish, and other important information.
Application Information
Parents may apply beginning today, May 3, 2021, and the application window closes May 14. Parents must submit an individual application for each student in their household.
Students’ healthcare providers must also complete and sign the Texas Education Agency Medical Certification for COVID-19 High Risk Exemption form, available here in English and in Spanish. The forms are also available on the Virtual Learning Program (VLP) webpage. Medical forms must be submitted by the student’s healthcare provider by fax directly to the FBISD Virtual Learning Program at 281-327-1075. The medical exemption forms are due to FBISD by June 3, 2021.
Families will be notified of students’ acceptance in the program by June 17, 2021. Admission will be based on the student's medical need, as well as program capacity and the availability of instructional staff.
Program Eligibility
Because the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority, the District’s VLP will be for a small percentage of students who require continued online learning due to extenuating medical circumstances.
The program will provide full time, virtual instruction using a combination of synchronous and asynchronous instruction for students identified as being at a higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
Individuals eligible to attend FBISD’s Virtual Learning Program are those the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) designates as being at higher risk of severe illness from conditions such as asthma, chronic lung disease, compromised immune systems, diabetes, serious heart disease, chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis, liver disease, and severe obesity.
The FBISD Extended Learning Department will be hosting Summer Camp from June 7 – July 23. Summer Camp will consist of seven one-week sessions at select campuses for students in Pre-K through middle school across the District. Summer enrichment activities are interactive, project-focused and challenge students to use critical thinking skills while having a Blast! To learn more and register today, visit www.fortbendisd.com/extendedlearning and select the Summer Program Tab.
