Operation Uphold Democracy

Who was involved?
The U.S. Navy, U.S. Coastal Guard, and the U.S. Air Force were told to go to Puerto Rico and southern Florida to help prepare for the airborne invasion in Haiti.
The government and the military worked to bring back democracy and uphold it in Haiti. It was basically a peace-keeping force of more than 20,000 personnel.
When and where did the events take place?
Operation Uphold Democracy took place from September 19, 1994 to March 31, 1995. It all took place in Haiti.
How the event unfolded:
It was basically an intervention designed to remove the military regime installed by the 1991 Haitian coup d'état that overthrew the elected President, Jean-Bertrand Aristide.
Why the events occured in the way they did:
They thought that democracy would be the best way to resolve the matter.
