Theatre News
North High Students,
If you have been involved in theatre or are new to our building (Freshmen class or transferring in from another school) please make sure you sign up for the Theatre Department communication tools provided below.
Theatre Master Classes!
Parkway Theatre Departments are hosting Master Classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3-4 through Zoom. This is an opportunity to learn and have some fun while gaining some skills we do not normally have time to teach when we are producing our shows during the school year. Tuesdays are Improv days just for some fun and practice of Improv skills. Wednesdays are Tech Days to hear about life in technical theatre after High School, play around with some special tools, techniques, and practical tech knowledge that will give us more skills to use when we get back into production! And Thursdays are Acting Days that are focused on knowledge and skills all actors need to be successful. The best news? This is FREE to all Parkway Theatre Students, you will receive attendance credit that will go toward Thespian Points (ITS Inductions or higher levels of achievement).
These Theatre Master Classes are hosted by the Parkway Theatre Teachers. We are getting to use skills and knowledge we don't always get to share. In addition, we are bringing in experts in each of these fields. One of the coolest opportunities these courses are providing Parkway Theatre Students is the talent we are bringing in as guest artists. Each school has graduates who have agreed to come back and join us to talk about their experience in college and the path they took to become a professional in the theatre arts world. Parkway is fortunate to have Alumni who are working professionally in all areas of Theatre, Television, and Movies. We have Broadway Stage Managers, Broadway and National Tour Performers, Voice Over Actors, professional Properties people, Talent Agents, Designers, Costume, Wigs and Stage Makeup professionals and many more. Take advantage of their knowledge and experience by joining these conversations and learning activities.
Inductions:
Last week we were finally able to Induct our newest Parkway North Thespians into the International Thespian Society and ITS Troupe #4551. It was a virtual ceremony and a great opportunity to see so many members of our troupe we have been missing for MONTHS! It was great to see so many wonderful faces! Here was some recognition that deserves mentioning:
- Soloni Shringarpure received the President's Scholar Award for her GPA. With a 4.53 this was her 3 year in a row winning this award!
- Caylah Johnson received the Star Power Award for her work this past 15 months as one of 4 Student Thespian Officers for Missouri Thespians!

Upcoming Productions and Events:
Monthly Meetings - We will begin having our monthly meetings in October. At this time these meetings will be virtual. The Zoom link will be provided in our Troupe 4551 Google Classroom. We may start having 2 meetings a month just so we can see each other and have some fun!
Productions - We will not be having an official production this semester. We are working on a production for the Spring if all things work as they should. This means we will have auditions and tech crew applications around the end of October or early November. Again, if all goes to plan!
