Early Life
Harrison Ford was born on July 13th, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. His parents were Dorothy Ford, a radio actress, and Christopher Ford, an advertising executive.He had one brother, Terrance Ford, born on April 21st, 1945. His father had Irish and German ancestors,his mother had Russian ancestry, and his grandparents were Jewish immigrants. Growing up, Harry was often bullied. He went to Maine Township High school, where he was never above a C and wasn't an athletic star. He was involved in the social science and model train clubs. Harry was also in the boy scouts and achieved the second highest rank, life scout. He worked as a reptile study badge counselor.
College
When Harrison Ford graduated High School in 1960, he went to Ripon College in Wisconsin.While he was there , he studied English and philosophy. Harry did not like the rigid structure of college though. He wasn't the best student in college either, and ended up leaving without completing hi degree. Harrison was only in college for 4 years but in his final year before he left, he found his love for acting by accident. He signed up for a drama course only because he thought he would get an easy grade, but found he actually enjoyed it. His friends in the drama course told him he would find acting work out in California, so when he left, Harrison Ford headed west.
Beginning as an actor.
Harrison Ford made his way to Hollywood in the mid 1960s. His first job earned $150 a week as a contract player for Columbia Pictures and later ended up at Universal Studios. Harry made his debut in a small part in Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round. The film executives were not Impressed with him and told him "You'll never make it in this business". He continued to get very small parts, and his pay didn't increase. Frustrated, Harrison Ford opened a carpentry company to earn more money. He soon became very popular and skilled.
Coming back to acting
Harrison Ford came back to acting when George Lucas gave him a part in American Graffiti, but it didn't advance his career much. He started getting bigger parts in movies such as The Conversation, Apocalypse Now, Judgement, Dynasty, and the TV series The Possessed. He was still doing carpentry to help his income, but some of his stress was starting to go away. By the late 1970s, Harry still hadn't gotten a big part in a movie yet.
Becoming succesful
In 1977, Harrison Ford teamed up with George Lucas and starred as Han Solo in Star Wars A New Hope. The movie was a huge success for Harry. He also played Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. He also played Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark and its 3 sequels. By this time Harrison was very well known, but he kept getting more and more popular in films including Witness, Patriot Games, and Clear and Present Danger. He earned $20,000,000 per film. Harry even starred in Cowboys and Aliens.

Harrison Ford is playing as Han Solo in the Star Wars The Force Awakens. In March, 2015, he crashed his vintage plane on a golf course in Venice California. He has been married 3 times and is currently married to Calista Flockhart. Harrison is now 73 years old and has a total of 5 children Liam, Ben, Georgia, Malcolm, and William. He has several awards including the Saturn Award for Best Actor. He became the vice-chairman of Conservation International, and because of his speeches about preserving threatened animals, had a species of spider and ant named after him. Harrison Ford has a net worth of 210 million dollars.
