April Parent/Guardian Workshop

Fostering Family Harmony

Workshop Description

Please join the CVUSD BreakThrough Student Assistance Program and the Conejo Schools Foundation for a presentation by Shoshana Wheeler on Wednesday, April 13th from 6:00-7:00 PM.

It is crucial to connect with our children authentically in order to foster family harmony. How we communicate with our children has the potential to strengthen or weaken the relationship. In this presentation, we will look at at the difference between listening to reply, versus listening to understand. When we listen to reply, we can unintentionally make situations worse. When we listen to understand, along with empathy, it allows both parents and children to be seen, heard and understood. We will identify and practice solutions together in order to foster authentic connection within our families.
