What is Air Pollution?
Air pollution, otherwise known as smog, is a serious problem. Breathing it in can be dangerous to your health. It can cause lung and heart disease. It comes from cars (or any motor vehicle that uses gasoline), factories, dust, pollen, and mold spores.
What Gases are Most Prominent in Air Pollution?
The most popular gases when it comes to air pollution are carbon dioxide, methane, and sulfur dioxide. Carbon dioxide is emitted from living things when they breathe, cars, planes, boats, and other things are what has raised its level higher than they have been for hundreds of thousands of years in just 150 years. Sulfur dioxide can cause acid rain, but it also blocks out the sun Causing the earth to cool.
What can you do to protect yourself?
Avoid smoggy areas. If you can, try taking a route away from heavy traffic and try to avoid rush hour. Buy an air conditioning unit and close the windows. If it runs it filters out the pollution in your house. Wear a facemask with a pollution. It’ll look really weird but it will help to keep your lungs healthy and functional. Move somewhere else. It might cost some money but it’ll keep you healthy.
