WST Weekly Update
October 11 - 15, 2021
Important Reminders
Parking Lot:
Please remind students that they should not linger in the parking lot. Once they arrive to campus, it is expected that students grab what they need for class and enter the building. There are spaces for students to finish lunches and wait for class.
Please remind students once they arrive to campus, either on the bus or by vehicle, they are to remain on campus until the end of their WST session. WST has a closed campus policy and students are to remain on campus once they arrive.
The custodian is finding a lot of trash in the parking lot, please remind students to pick up their own trash, there are several garbage cans throughout the building and by the parking lot.
WST Identification:
WST picture day is scheduled for Thursday, October 14 on campus. One of the main reasons that we complete picture day here is to ensure that every student receives a WST identification. Students are expected to have their WST identification on them at all times.
Masks:
Please remind students that they must wear a mask while on campus at West Sound Tech. Students must wear either a cloth mask or medical mask that covers from top of their nose to the bottom of their chin.

School Lunch Available at WST
And speaking of school lunch, The National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children every school day. President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week in 1962 to promote the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has inside and outside of the classroom.
This year’s theme, “WILD About School Lunch!” celebrates the everyday creativity of school cafeteria teams as they serve up delicious menu items that are, quite simply, beyond your wildest dreams!
A HUGE thank you to our Child Nutrition Services (CNS) team that provides daily lunches at WST for all students who need lunch. WST truly appreciates the work of our CNS team!
Disabilities Awareness Month
The purpose of Disability History Awareness month is to increase awareness, respect, and acceptance for people with disabilities, and to bring a greater sense of pride to people with disabilities.
During October, we work to increase awareness and understanding of disability history and people with disabilities.
We invite you to watch this video of young people with disabilities share their thoughts about Disability Pride from @YDASvic , YDAS - Youth Disability Advocacy Service.

FREE therapy available to all Bremerton School District students and staff
The mental health of our students is a top priority. That’s why we’re offering a free new service: Gaggle Teletherapy.
If your child is feeling sad, hopeless, angry, or anxious—or having challenges with family, friends, or relationships—therapy could help.
Gaggle Therapy is a free, confidential option to connect weekly with a therapist online and on your student’s schedule. Students can be referred by a teacher, counselor or parent, and students age 13 and older can self-refer.
