Hallinan Elementary
Hawk Squawk 3/11/21
Principal's Message
I think most of you know by now that music is my jam and I often have songs running through my head. All last week, even when it was raining, I was 'Walking on Sunshine' during arrival time. It is so good to see our hawks and families in person. The welcome back sign above was provided by Westridge parent, Lori Gaiotti, owner of Card My Yard, Lake Oswego.
I am so excited to see you all at HAL Hangouts tomorrow, Friday, 3/12. We know some of you may arrive late or need to leave early to get to school on time, but join us, even if only for a few minutes.K-2 will meet from 11:15 am to 11:45 am and 3-5 will meet from 11:45 am to 12:15 pm.
At Hallinan , we want every child, online and in-person, to know that they are BRAVER than they believe, STRONGER than they seem, SMARTER than they think and LOVED more than they know. We are so proud of your resilience and perseverance!
Enjoy the sun!
Melissa Griffiths
Please see the photos below from school arrival. We are so grateful that our School Resource Officer, James Euscher, periodically stops by to say hello!

Lake Oswego Schools Foundation prospective board member application:
Bias and Racial Incident Reporting Form and Information
On November 16, 2020, the LOSD School Board approved the ALL Students Belong Policy which prohibits the display of hate symbols and the use of hate speech in our school community. This is another step forward in our efforts of becoming an anti-bias and anti-racist organization and living up to the District’s core values of equity and inclusion. The All Students Belong Policy makes it clear that hate will not be tolerated nor accepted in our schools. We encourage students to stand against hate by interrupting and reporting any bias and/or racist incident that they witness or personally experience.
We want LOSD schools to be a safe, welcoming, and loving space where all students have the opportunity to be themselves and thrive socially and academically. If you have witnessed or experienced any harm directed to any student, teacher, or staff member based on perceived or actual identity, you can report to your administrator, a trusted staff member, by using the new elementary Incident Report or anonymously to SafeOregon.
Recommended Quarantining After Travel
With many in our community transitioning to in-person learning and Spring Break coming up at the end of March, it’s a good time to clarify the statewide guidance for travel. It’s recommended that people who are not vaccinated and who travel outside of the state of Oregon consider quarantining upon returning home.
LOSD is asking people to consider quarantining, but it is not required. Schools will not be keeping track of travel plans. It is up to each person and family to decide. If students choose to quarantine, instructional materials will be provided while out of school.
Per the Oregon Statewide Guidance for Travel, people are recommended to practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival in the state and limit their interactions to their immediate household. People may consider ending quarantine if they have had no symptoms: after 10 days with no testing or after 7 days with an antigen or PCR test.
