Financial Aid Night TONIGHT!!

Please come to our Financial Aid Night on November 12th from 6:00pm - 7:00pm at Shelby County High School. There will be lots of information about scholarships, FAFSA, grants, and college loans will be discussed! This event is designed for junior and senior students and parents. A mini fridge will be raffled off to one Collins student who attends this event!

Friday Night Lights:

We are selling tickets for the Collins-Shelby Football game at Shelby County on Friday, November 13 at 7:30. Sales are open to students and adults on Wednesday afternoon in front of the large gym from 5:00-6:30, during the Meet the Titans Basketball event. Tickets will also be sold during lunch on Friday in Collins cafeteria. Students may purchase for themselves and their family members if they desire. Ticket prices are $5 for students and adults. Your ticket will allow you to enter a designated gate without waiting.

Gifted Education Services:

Now is the time of the year when you can refer your child for gifted education services. Referrals for the 2016-2017 school year are being accepted from parents/guardians and teachers for students who will be entering grades 4 through 12 next school year. There are five areas for which students may be referred: general intellectual ability, specific academic aptitude, creative or divergent thinking ability, leadership ability, and fine arts ability. If you are interested in referring your child for testing please have them return the letter they received at school on Wednesday.

Parent Teacher Conferences:

Volunteer Opportunity:

Collins High School will be hosting a Life Fair on November 18th for our freshman students. The event is designed to get them thinking about their future careers and how the will be able to finance the life they want. We are requesting volunteers to work some of the booths our students will be required to visit. The day will happen in two sessions (session one: 8:30-12:00 and session two: 12-3:20). Lost and Found:

Our lost and found is running over. If your student has lost something please send them to the YSC and try to find it. We have several pairs of glasses, chargers, lots of lunchboxes, clothes, jackets, shoes and much more!!! Please have them stop by the center and check it out. All lost and found items will be donated on November 25th to Operation Care.

Holiday Collection Drive:

The Army JROTC program is partnering with the Salvation Army of Shelby County this holiday season to collect essential items to help support those individuals who have been identified on the Angel Tree. This is not a toy drive but a donation drive to collect hygiene, beauty items and other necessities for middle/high school kids in Shelby County.

To encourage maximum school participation, the JROTC program challenges each first period class to turn in the most donated items. The WINNER will receive a pizza party lunch with sodas courtesy of the Youth Service Center.
