From Dr. Gruman

Dear Northwest Families,

We want to celebrate our student leaders, sponsors, and all of our students as we enjoyed a truly Awesome assembly today. I was so proud of our students and the way they engaged with the activities during the assembly. We had class skits, competitions, performances, and recognitions. Our Cougar Pride was strong today and it brought joy to so many of us to see our kids having fun together.

We encourage our parents to volunteer for After-Prom this Saturday night if you have time available that evening. It is such a wonderful event, and our students have an amazing time! Our volunteers always have great fun during their shifts as well. Please see the PTSA link below to find the sign-up and see if there are still spots available. Any time you can share is greatly appreciated. Thank you to our PTSA After-Prom committee chairs and members who make this event possible!

We wish all of our musicians the very best experiences as they participate in KSHSAA Large Group Festival this Thursday! Our bands, choirs, and orchestras will be at various school sites sharing their musical talents as they represent SM Northwest!

April is a very busy month, and it is easy for students to feel a bit more stressed or overwhelmed. Please remember that our social workers, counselors, teachers, and administrators are here to help. Please let us know if we need to touch base with your student for a bit of extra support.

Have a wonderful week!

All the best,

Dr. Lisa Gruman

After Prom is coming up on April 15 and we need YOU to help make Beach Bash '23 a huge success for our students! Volunteers are needed for set up on Friday and during the event on Saturday. Pick something that sounds fun - we need help with check-in, ticket sales, casino and carnival games, prizes, and more! Please take a couple minutes to visit our After Prom website where you will find links to volunteer, donate snacks, and make a monetary contribution. Our sign up is only about half full with under 2 weeks to go, so grab a friend or two and spend the evening helping to make After Prom the fun, safe, affordable, and SMART choice for our SMNW upperclassmen on April 15!
