Parent Survey

SCDE Parent Climate Survey
Please take the opportunity to complete the Parent Climate survey through the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE). This is not the paper SIC survey completed by our families a couple of weeks ago.

K-12 parents can take the survey up until April 14th in Ecollect in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. Parents may submit one survey for each student, according to SCDE guidelines. Each survey will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. Please read each statement and choose the best response from the choices given. As you read each statement, please consider the entire year rather than recent or isolated events.

Click here to for directions to access and complete the SCDE Parent Climate Survey.

If you are unable to access Parent Portal please contact Mrs. Tyson at 843-322-6147.

Coosa's Boosterthon

Coosa Elementary families!

The pledging has begun. As of this afternoon, 30% of our students are registered online. Boosterthon is our main fundraiser of the year. Students that register before our kickoff on Monday morning will earn an out of uniform pass. Our families can start sharing about and donating to our Coosa Bobcat Splash and Dash. We are already seeing our students' Boosterthon videos on social media and pledges are rolling in ($4000 raised already). Our goal is to raise $35,000 to strengthen our literacy program, increase project-based learning opportunities, and to provide student and staff incentives. Are you ready to help our school?

Here are 3 things you can do to help support our school through this fundraiser:

1. Register on mybooster.com tonight. It’s so easy!

2. Share about our fundraiser with your family and friends using the SHARE BUTTON on mybooster.com.

3. Give a donation if you are able to (all students will fully participate regardless of financial participation).

⭐️Click Here to log on TODAY! ⭐️

Thanks again for your support!

Career Day

It is time to start planning our 12th annual Career Day event at Coosa Elementary. This year the event will be held on Friday, April 21st from 8:00-10:30am. The event will take place in the cafeteria/gymnasium. Each volunteer will have their own table space to set up any materials they would like to share with our students. 😊 All grade levels will participate in this round robin style career showcase. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience to Mrs. Bossak – Nicole.bossak@beaufort.k12.sc.us or 843-322-6123, if you would like to showcase your career. More detailed communication will be sent closer to the event date. Thank you for your continued support of our students at Coosa Elementary. We are anticipating another successful event that our children continue to talk about long after!

Blueberry Tasting

Our Wellness Team coordinated with MUSC Children's Health in partnership with GrowFood Carolina to host a schoolwide blueberry tasting. The students watched a short video to learn how blueberries are grown, learned fun blueberry facts, and more. They were then all able to taste a small cup of blueberries. Did you know that one blueberry bush can produce around 6000 blueberries per season? Did you know that we have 8 blueberry bushes at CES that were planted last year? We can't wait until our blueberry bushes start producing. Check out some of our students eating blueberries.

Kindness Project

Students in grades 3-5 participated in a kindness themed lesson during their guidance time this week. These students painted rocks with positive messages to bring sunshine to the front of the school building. During the NEHS School Beautification Day tomorrow, these rocks will be spread around the front of the building- be sure to check them out the next time you visit CES.

Mrs. Bossak plans to extend this project in the future by allowing students to spread kindness rocks around the Lowcountry.
