A New Sheriff In Town
Officer Wardian moved here from Phoenix, Arizona and likes working at Hector Garcia Middle School because of its friendly environment. In his words, "People here have respect for each other."
Officer Wardian believes that a big part of his job is to help create a safe environment for students and staff. He wants to make sure bad things don't happen to good people.
At the same time, Officer Wardian doesn't want to just be known as someone who arrests bad guys. He hopes to be a positive influence to the student body and those around him. "Students should understand," he explained. "that what they do today can affect their lives for years to come. For example, drugs are a lie and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying to you."
With a foundation built on his faith, Officer Wardian strives to be tough but fair. The analogy he uses is "a steel hand, wrapped in velvet."
So the next time you see Officer Wardian on campus, take the time to say hi and thank him for his efforts on behalf of the HGMS students.
