What is Kids Read Now?
We are thrilled to announce the Kids Read Now summer reading program to maintain reading skills over the summer. Kids Read Now is a non-profit organization who designed a program to include best practices for reading engagement and growth. We are delighted to partner with these groups to provide a high-quality reading program throughout the summer. The program is completely FREE to you. Your child’s teacher will help your child choose eight books at their reading level. The first book and KRN Parent Guide will be mailed to your home in May. The remaining seven books plus a bonus ninth, writing book will be sent to your home over summer. In order to have the books arrive by mail, we ask families to update their contact information online. You can see the books your child selected by viewing the paper Wish List, downloading the KRN app or clicking the PDF link above. To update your child’s contact information online, visit portal.kidsreadnow.org, and select the home button. We also recommend you download the Kids Read Now app to report your child’s books over summer. Students who report all eight books will get a prize and certificate in the fall!
