PMES Robotics Team Survey
Our Puckett's Mill Competition Robotics team needs your help. We are collecting data to inform our team about how fear can potentially impact participation in the arts. "The arts" include: Theater, Athletics, Music, Art & Cinema. For many, the arts are their passion. Our goal is to reach at least 329 (our team number) people and get their opinion. We are asking that you complete the survey and pass it on to as many people in as many geographic regions as possible.

SEL November Focus
This month, we are focusing on gratitude at Puckett’s Mill. Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.”.
Often we can find ourselves noticing things that we don’t like or that we wish were different. Choosing to appreciate things in our life, things in others, and things in the world can be a challenge, but practicing Gratitude will help us to be more confident, calm, and focused. Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Gratitude.
Here are 2 “Purposeful Pursuits” for you to complete together as a family.
Pursuit #1: Spend some time as a family trying to think of at least 10 small things for which you are GRATEFUL and choose to notice ten more the following day.
Pursuit #2: Create a GRATITUDE jar. Display a glass jar in a special place and place small slips of paper next to the jar. Everyone writes things or people or events that they are GRATEFUL for. When there are a good number collected, find a time to read them together as a family. This is a sure way to change a gloomy day into a happy one!

The Student Survey will be open for students in grades 3-12 via the GCPS Student Portal from November 6 – December 15, 2023.
Parents may complete the Opt-Out process if they do not wish their student(s) to participate in the survey. Parents may use the Parent Portal to complete this process, or they may send a written request to their teacher to opt their student(s) out of this survey. Please note that any parent/guardian wishing to opt his/her student out of the survey should complete the online form or inform the teacher in writing by Friday, November 3, 2023.

ParentSquare
Have you downloaded the ParentSquare App? Make sure to get updates and notifications from your child's teacher and PMES!
Transportation Changes
The completed form should be sent to school with your student and turned in to their teacher when they arrive at school. Thank you for your help to ensure the safety of our students.
The Weather is Changing!
With the temperatures being cooler in the mornings and warmer in the afternoons, we are seeing an increase in jackets/sweaters/hoodies in lost and found. To help us return these lost items to their correct owner, please write your student's name in their jackets/sweaters/hoodies.
It is also helpful if your student's name is on their water bottle and lunch box too!
Cafeteria Visitors and Birthday Treats
Parents are welcome to send in with their student or drop off individual treats for students for birthday celebrations. Store bought treats are preferred.
