Book Study Scholarship Details
This on-demand book study is a partnership between SupportEd and MidWest RBERN. It is a self-paced course and is designed for educators looking for tools and strategies to support the implementation of culturally responsive teaching. Complete the course at your convenience and earn a certificate for 20 CTLE hours upon course completion. All course work must be completed by June 4, 2021.
*Scholarship recipients will commit to sharing their learning with the field upon completion of the course.
About the Book
Culturally Responsive Teaching for Multilingual Learners: Tools for Equity by Drs. Sydney Snyder and Diane Staehr Fenner
Explore tools and strategies for culturally responsive teaching to help you build an even stronger school community that is inclusive of multilingual learners.
This book includes practical, research-based tools for implementing culturally responsive teaching in your context. It explores topics such as:
• Building cultural competency,
• Placing students at the center of learning,
• Leveraging students' linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and
• Uniting students' schools, families, and communities.
Books will be provided by MidWest RBERN to participants upon registration.
Books will need to be picked up at the MidWest RBERN offices

Course Contents
This self-paced online course includes:
• Three reflection questions per chapter,
• Video clips that accompany a selection of chapters,
• A pre- and post-course survey,
• A certificate for 20 CTLE hours.
Applications are due by March 19, 2020
