I tested out Inferring and was really impressed with the setup. First I was given an option to watch a 2 minute video about what inferring is, then I was given 5 choices for the type of text I wanted to read, I chose a pen pal letter. I then get to choose the type of inference I want to discover, then I had to read the letter and answer a set of questions to figure out where my friend had moved to, the site asked me to highlight passages in the text and then an interactive US map showed locations based on the clues.
There were some really great features, highlighting passages that had nothing to do with my inference process corrected me with clues. There was also a conclusion video from the Pen pal discussing the assignment.
Bonus features include a Teachers area and student logins for progress, although logins are not required!
