The Great Barrier Reef is a FABULOUS place. It has a wonderful variety of coral and fish. 2 common fish that can be found there are the butterfly fish and the cardinal fish, many others as well.

The GREAT BARRIER REEF is in Queensland and is
1973 km away from Sydney.
HOW BIG IS IT?
The GREAT BARRIER REEF is the largest coral system in the world, It is 348,700 km long.
WHAT ELSE WE NEED TO KNOW
The GREAT BARRIER REEF is dying from pollution and
plastic. We could do better by stop using straws, bottles and plastic bags.
WHY WOULD YOU GO THERE
To see all the amazing things such as the coral and fish.
You might also see sharks, whales and dolphins.
You can go swimming there and also go snorkelling

VARIETIES OF FISH
There is estimated to be over 1,500 varieties of fish in the Great Barrier Reef. Some of the endangered species there include turtles, whales, shells and fish.
PROTECTION OF THE REEF
If we don't protect the Great Barrier Reef against global warming the coral will continue to die and fish will die. The Great Barrier Reef could be added to the World Heritage endangered list. We would not be able to visit it and that is why we should protect it.
