February Elementary Awards Assembly
The elementary ended the week on Friday with the February end-of-the-month awards assembly. Each grade level recognized students in reading, math, attendance, and overall and our OWLS awards for ownership, willingness, leadership, and success for all grades. We also took time to recognize the students nominated as our responsibility student of the month as we ended February learning about the character trait, of responsibility.
Spring Conferences - March 29 - 31
As a reminder, Spring conferences will be coming up at the end of March. Conferences will occur on Marcy 29, 30, and 31, with one-day holding evening conferences. If you have any questions, please contact your child's teacher or advisory teacher—more information and details will come out soon.
Elementary to See the Super Scientific Circus on Field Trip
The elementary school was awarded a grant for grades 1-6 to go on a field trip to Shelton High School next week to see the Super Scientific Circus play. Field trips should have gone home last week. If you did not receive that, please get in touch with your child's teacher. Grades 1-3 will attend on Wednesday, and grades 4-6 will attend on Thursday.
The Super Sciencitif Circus program is designed to help students understand that science can be appreciated in everything we see and do. We believe that science can be and is fun!
The program features circus skills, magic tricks, comedy, and mime to illustrate fundamental scientific concepts such as gravity, the center of gravity, air pressure, the speed of sound and light, ultraviolet light, centripetal force, airfoils, and more.
Read Across America Recognition Week Next Week
As part of the school recognizing Read Across America next week, we will hold a spirit week focused on recognizing reading. The image bellow shows the themes for each day.
