Good Things
Special Edition- Distance Learning In Action- April 2020
Superintendent's Thoughts
Welcome back - I hope each of you have had a restful and relaxing spring break! I want to thank you for your continued patience and understanding as we all maneuver in this new and challenging world. As you know, the Core Values of the GCC are summarized and stated simply as “SERVICE” and in this vein I am incredibly proud of the job our administrators, teachers and all our staff have been doing to implement distance learning and educational support for our students. Last week, the California Department of Education issued updated guidance for public school districts to support the implementation of distance learning options for students. I am proud to say that prior to this guidance our GCC school site staff teams had already met, created plans and were already working and implementing strategies to support our students in their learning. This is a testament to each of you and your heart of SERVICE. Thank you!
And so we come back together now to help each other through this unthinkable journey. Remember as we find our way forward and through this distance learning/shelter in place journey - we are a community and you are not alone. Keep doing the next and the next right thing and together with our families we will make each day meaningful for all of our students.
Again - Thank you!
[PS In this special edition of Good Things we highlight a few moments from each schools distance learning experience.]
