Reading Resources for the 2023-24 School Year
Findley Oaks Media Center - Print Books
Online Browsing and Book Holds
All students have 24/7 access to browse the online catalog via Destiny on ClassLink and place holds for books. Click here for a short video showing how to use the online catalog.
Students who request books will receive a notice in their classroom when the materials are ready to be picked up in the Media Center.
In-Person Browsing and Book Checkout
- Class Browse: All homerooms will be given 10 to 15 minutes at the end of each media center class to browse and checkout books.
- Independent Browse: 7:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Teachers may send up to 4 students per class at a time.
- Free Reading: 7:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Students may enjoy reading books in the comfy blue chairs or on the chair cycles.

Checkout and Holds Guidelines
PreK: 1 Book
Kindergarten, and 1st Grade Students: 2 Books
2nd-5th Grades: 3 Books
An item may be borrowed for two weeks, with the option to renew if no one is waiting for it. Students may place holds on up to three books at a time.

Mackin VIA is our school-specific platform for online reading and research material.
You can access eBooks and audio books purchased specifically for Findley Oaks, as well as databases for research.

Tumblebooks is a platform provided by the school district that offers thousands of eBooks, as well as read alongs and literacy activities.
You can access eBooks, as well as audio books, purchased specifically for our school.

3. Click on Mackin VIA
4. Go to Databases and then select Tumblebooks.

Sora is an app for 3rd-5th grade students that provides access to thousands of eBooks and Audio Books that can be enjoyed on different devices, including Kindles, tables such as ipads, smart phones, and laptops.

3. Click on Sora
4. Select Fulton County School
5. Click on "Student Sign In" and use your FCS ID number and password if prompted.
