In the LSE PTO know!
February 2021

YOU put the "P" in PTO!
Getting involved in your child's education is an experience to remember! Whether it's volunteering at an event, helping at school during the day, or helping with things from home, your time and assistance are what puts the "P" in PTO! Our mission is to support and enrich the experience of our staff & students, but we operate solely on volunteers. Many hands make light work, and we happen to also have a lot of fun doing it! In this day and age of a multitude of commitments, we value any time you can offer in any way that you are able. Your kids will think it's pretty cool too! We hope that you will consider lending a hand to make the 2020-2021 school year amazing!

Gertrude Hawk Candy Sales... SELL YOUR HEARTS OUT (until 2/19)!
The Gertrude Hawk Candy sale, our second major fundraiser for the year, is in full swing! Now it is time to SELL, SELL, SELL! All profits from the sale will be used to support activities for our students like assemblies, SWEBS rewards, memory books, and much more.
Take advantage of the online ordering option and promote the event through online and social media outlets. Online orders must be paid for with a credit card, and customers have the option of shipping online orders to their homes (for an additional charge) or shipping them to the school (for free). Traditional paper orders can be placed with the order form in your child’s packet. Please return the order form, with payment, by Friday, February 19th, and orders can be picked up on Thursday, March 25th.
We have some great prizes for our top candy sellers:
1st Place Prize: Chromebook
2nd Place Prize: Nintendo Switch Lite
3rd: Place Prize: Smartivity Music Maker
In addition, all students with sales over $50 will be entered into a raffle to win a special prize. All students with at least $5 in candy sales will win a prize. See the Parade of Prizes in your child’s sales packet to learn about other great prizes your child can win.
If you have any questions about the sale, please contact Lindsay Kordula (lindsay.kordula@gmail.com) or the PTO at ptoatlse@gmail.com. Thanks for helping to make all of our fundraisers so successful!
~ HELPFUL TIPS FOR SELLING ONLINE ~
1,2,3,4... we declare a PENNY WAR!
Each grade will have its own collection bin in the Cafeteria so they will be able to see which grade has collected more coins (dollars and checks are accepted as well, for anyone that wishes to send those instead).
Send in that spare change and let's see which grade wins our Penny War!! :)
The MASKED READER!
Every SUNDAY at 6pm! Set your alarms and turn them on "repeat", because each Sunday at 6pm, we will post a NEW video on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/loganvillespringfieldpto) and on our webpage (https://ls.dallastown.net/p_t_o/events/masked_reader)!
Staff at LSE will be reading a bedtime story... in DISGUISE! It could be ANYONE at LSE. Your kiddos can enjoy the story, and try to use their ears and the clues to figure out who is behind the mask! In this crazy year, we hope this will become something fun that our students look forward to each Sunday! Happy sleuthing! 🐾💙🐾
WINTER PAINT NITE ON FEBRUARY 13TH
Make those winter blues COLORFUL with our paint nites!
Hosted by the PTO and facilitated by our very own Art Teacher,
Mrs. Lehman!
Drop the phone. Ditch the tablet. Step away from the TV! It's time to reclaim your free time! Assemble your whole family to have a colorful evening! During this pre-recorded kid friendly workshop, you will make your own easy to follow and paint masterpiece. The pre-recording will allow your family to paint at thier own pace, so you can start and stop the video as you go. We will post all supply lists prior to the date of the event. Many items, including canvas, brushes, and paints, can be purchased at the Dollar Tree! You can even choose to draw on paper and color with crayons, markers, or color pencils! Each date will have a different design! We can't wait to see what our little LSE artists create!
Keep an eye out for our next Paint Nite in March!

LSE “wheelie” loves our School Bus & Van Drivers!
We are so lucky to have such great bus and school van drivers here at LSE who transport our most precious cargo to school daily. On Friday, February 19th, the PTO will be boarding buses as they arrive at school to deliver a special breakfast treat & gift to each of our fantastic bus and van drivers.
While we will not be doing organized Thank You cards this year, please feel free to make the day more special by sending a drawing or note of appreciation that your child can give directly to the bus/van driver as they head to school in the morning! (we will NOT collect these at school)

SCHOOL/CLASS DIRECTORY
Many of you have already registered on the website and signed your child(ren) up for the Class Directory... thank you!
If you would like your child to be included, steps to set-up your account & directory information are located under the RED "Add My Student(s)" button below!
Please remember that for privacy issues, all members who join will remain in the "pending" file until we have verified that they are a parent of a student that is registered at LSE. If your file doesn't show up immediately, it's b/c it's in the "pending" file and we will approve it as soon as we've confirmed that you do belong to LSE :) The safety of our families is very important to us.
Additionally, the Directory is optional. Should you choose not to include your students' information, that is totally fine as well! We hope that those who chose to utilize this tool find it an easy way to connect with friends and LSE families!
Register account (school code QD5E47), click "Student Directory", "My Student", green "Add a Student" & enter your child's info (do this for each child) You must check the box "Show in Directory" in order for the student to appear!
