Elizabeth Blackwell was born on February 31st 1821. She was born in England, and then her family moved to New York. She decided she wanted to be a doctor. She was the best in her class. She was famous because she was the first women doctor. She worked at a medical center for poor woman and children.

Elizabeth Blackwell was generous because she wanted women to have a place in the world.

Furthermore, she was caring because she was a doctor. Some fun facts about Elizabeth are that her sisters and her were teachers, also she graduated at the top of her class. Elizabeth did on May 31, 1910.

She was the first woman to graduate from medical school, a pioneer in promoting the education of women in medicine in the United States, and a social and moral reformer in both the United States and in the United Kingdom. Her sister Emily was the third woman in the US to get a medical degree.
