The Mane Tail

Friday, April 1st, 2022

Dear Parents,

We are very excited to be having "in person" programs again at Sampson. Since we have not had program guests in the building for two years, we thought we would review a couple of our policies and procedures. When you arrive for the program, please come to the front door. That is the only door that will be unlocked for guests. Seating will be limited, so try to limit your guests to just immediate family members. At the end of the program, families may exit out any door in the cafeteria or walk back to the front of the building. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation, and we can't wait to see our Stallions back on the stage!

5th Grade Parents- The BizTown Field Trip is Friday, May 6 and we need help!

What is BizTown?

BizTown is a simulated town that our students get to run for the day. Prior to the field trip, they apply for and are assigned jobs. Once at BizTown, they fill these jobs and simulate real life.

How can I help?

*Help facilitate BizTown Interviews on Friday, April 8, 8:45-10am. You’ll be trained right before the interviews in the Sampson cafeteria. We need 50 volunteers. Sign up here

*Chaperone the Field Trip on Friday, May 6. The field trip is at the Junior Achievement facility on Dacoma St. You must be trained to attend. Training is offered Friday, April 8 @ 8am (before BizTown interviews) OR Thursday, April 21 @ 9:30am. Sign up for a training date to let us know you’re going to chaperone on May 6. We need, at minimum, 32 volunteers. Sign up here

The Book Character Parade is ready for an audience again! K, 1, and 2 students have the great opportunity to dress up as book characters on Friday, April 22 for our annual parade! I remind the students to pick a book first, then dress up based on what they learned about the character, bring the book to school, and we parade!

Families are welcome to watch the parade this year! Families may line up around the outside of the track and wait for us to parade around the track. We will begin after announcements, but we will likely be around the track around 8:15 a.m. We can't wait!

1st grade has a very exciting author visit on Tuesday, April 5 with author Mac Barnett! He is funny and a blast. Please see the attached document if you would like to purchase his newest book through Blue Willow Bookstore. Mrs. Maddan will deliver the books after picking them up from the store. Thanks!

5th grade book club! We will meet to discuss Twins on Thursday, April 14.
