Dear Twelve Bridges families,

Parent-Teacher conferences are taking place this week and school will be dismissed at 12:30 for all K-5th grade students. TK students will all be on the AM schedule, starting at 8:00 and being dismissed at 11:20.

Be sure to talk with your students about all the fun things we have planned this week. We will be fulfilling several of our big Fun Run incentives this week!

Hi Parents,

My name is David DeLeon and I'm the head wrestling coach for Twelve Bridges Middle School. I'm excited to welcome all new and returning wrestlers to the 2023/2024 season. As always, we will open up our wrestling room to all "nuggets" (3rd-5th graders) that attend feeder elementary schools to TBMS. During the season, our nuggets will have several opportunities to wrestle in tournaments against other wrestling teams' nuggets.

For those parents who have children that are even remotely interested in wrestling, I recommend attending the parent/coach meeting. Wrestling is a great sport that will assist your child in many facets of their lives and athletic careers. Our wrestling program teaches our kids core values such as discipline, sacrifice, hard work, toughness, perseverance, and humility.

The parent/coach meeting will be for parents of both new and returning wrestlers on 11/16 (Thursday) at 6:00 pm in the TBMS library. In addition to parents, all wrestlers are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting. They will be able to meet their coaches and teammates as well as hear firsthand what will be expected of them throughout the season from the coaching staff. Parents will be provided with all necessary paperwork that must be completed and submitted by the first day of practice, 11/27.

I understand the aforementioned date and time won't work for everyone. If that's the case, please send me an email with your contact information as well as your child's name, age, grade level, weight, and any prior wrestling experience so I can begin compiling a roster and provide you with any pertinent information you'll need before the first day of practice. The parent/coach meeting will answer all questions regarding the upcoming season so please save any questions for the meeting. The coaching staff and I are excited to coach again this season and we look forward to seeing everyone on November 16th at 6:00 pm. Thank you all for your time.

IF YOUR CHILD'S BIRTHDAY IS OVER A WEEKEND PLEASE INDICATE WHAT DATE YOU WANT THE MESSAGE ON (THE FRIDAY BEFORE OR THE MONDAY AFTER THEIR BIRTHDAY...ENTER THAT DATE AS THEIR DATE OF BIRTH).

YOU MUST PURCHASE BY THE 25TH OF THE MONTH. (i.e. if your student's birthday is on February 25th you would need to order and pay for their message by January 25th in order for their message to be included. We are excited to be able to add this as a special thing for our students.

Next time you drive by the school, check out the marquee for all the messages!

If your student is going to be out of town and absent from school for a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 14 days, you will need to inform the front office of this absence no later than five school days prior to leaving (the more time the better).

Once the office has been informed, they will email you a travel study contract to electronically sign. The teacher will be notified of the absence and will put together all of the class work they will miss.

Teachers are very busy getting together needed work, so please be patient and give ample time before going on vacation.

Please remember there is no drop-off or pick up at the side gate unless you are in the designated classes that have been allowed to use it. No parking or stopping along the curb that is alongside the park. It only takes 10 minutes to get through the driveline. Avoid the hassle of parking by the park and use the driveline! Please help us alleviate traffic congestion by not driving all the way down by the park and then to the multi as parking there is very limited and creates issues with us being able to safely cross students and keep traffic flowing smoothly.

Our local police department has been citing people who are not following traffic laws. On the corner of Eastridge and Twelve Bridges Drive please pull along the curb if you are waiting in the driveline and do NOT block traffic that is trying to make the right hand turn off of Twelve Bridges onto Eastridge (keep the last 20 feet from the corner clear - see picture below).

Below that picture is a message from LPD that they released on Thursday regarding golf carts and NEVs.

Parents,

Please make sure to remind your students to be careful as they travel to and from school. We have had several close calls with the busy traffic in the neighborhoods. Please also remind your students to wear a helmet if they are coming to school by bike or scooter. We want to make sure are students stay safe!
