Preschool Illness Policy Reminder
Dear Families,
It is that time of year when unfortunately a lot of colds, coughs, and illnesses are going around. We seem to have a lot of children and teachers who have been sick this fall. Each day we do our best to thoroughly clean and disinfect here at preschool, and we also need your help to keep our environment as free of germs as possible. Please review the information below taken directly from our handbook. Thank you so much!
If your child becomes ill during the day, we will call you. If you are unavailable, we will call one of your emergency numbers. Please keep all phone numbers (cell, home and office) current and let us know as changes occur.
Please let us know within 24 hours if your child contracts a CONTAGIOUS or COMMUNICABLE disease (such as chicken pox, strep, pink eye, lice, pin worms, viral infections, mumps, measles, scarlet fever or fifth’s disease) and we will notify other parents as necessary.
The preschool makes every effort to protect the health and safety of the children as well as our teachers. For the child’s own protection and that of others in the school, your child should be kept at home when you see signs of colds or other illnesses.
Any child who has any of the following symptoms should not attend school:
Severe cold
Red or sore eyes
Persistent cough
Green discharge from nose or eyes
Sore throat
Ear ache
Swollen glands
*Nausea or vomiting
*Fever
*Diarrhea
*Rashes
*Your child must be free of these symptoms without the aid/use of medicine for 24 hours before returning back to preschool.
