Who uses Maps?

Many people use maps to get some place that they have been before or to find something.

What are maps?

Maps play a very important part in thee study of geography and in everyday life. We use maps to communicate information about places, to help us find the locations of different places and to explore different parts of the Earths surface.

DIFFERENT TYPES OF MAPS

There are many different types of maps...

The maps that I know of and I will be talking about them are...

  • Choropleth Map
  • Alphanumeric Map
  • Topographic Map
...but there is a lot of maps out there.

Choropleth Map

What is a Choropleth Map?

A Choropleth Map is a map that is coloured in the appropriate colours. For example rainfall would be in different type of blues.

Alphanumeric Map

What is an Alphanumeric Map?

A Alphanumeric Map when it has letters and numbers around the sides. Normally the letters are at the top and at the bottom of the page. The numbers on an Alphanumeric Map are on the left and right side of the page.

Topographic Map

What is a Topographic Map?

A Topographic Map is a way of representing on a two-dimensional surface which shows both natural and man-made features.

B.O.L.T.S.S

WHAT IS B.O.L.T.S.S ?

B.O.L.T.S.S is what every type of map needs to include if they do not have all of them it is a bad map.
