Jog-A-Thon - A Fun Success!
We had a beautiful day for Jog-A-Thon this week! Thank you to all who came out to support our students and help with the big event! We couldn’t do it without you! The students jogged their hearts out - many of them running 5-6 miles and some even more! Each lap was 1/4 mile if you want to figure out your child’s mileage. I’m sure they slept well that night!
So far, we have raised more than $8,000 and are have reached 40% of our goal to raise $20,000 for Stonegate to support math and literacy materials, technology, enrichment grants, field trips, and special projects for each grade. AMAZING! Thank you for your generosity! 100% of the donations collected by Stonegate students will directly impact our school. Donations are due by Friday, October 4th. To donate online go to: https://www.schoolpay.com/link/JAT2019
Every student who brings in $50 in donations ($25 for preschoolers) will be awarded a running shoe keychain they can decorate!! Prizes will be awarded every week. Plus, the class in each grade with the highest participation percentage gets to choose their own Spirit Day. We will have a preschool winner and a winner for each grade. And the one class in the whole school who raises the most money gets to “cream” their teacher, Mrs. Largent, and Mrs. Farley! We are just at the beginning of our donation collection, but so far Mrs. Shaw's kindergarten class and the Preschool/PreK combined classes are in the lead! Yay for our little ones!

Stonegate Spotlight: Second Grade
We’ve been busy in 2nd grade! We used our virtual reality headsets to go inside a computer. We learned about the various parts of a computer and whether they input or output information. We learned how the VR headsets work and how to handle them properly. We will use the VR headsets a couple more times during the year to “travel” to other places and times. We also had a fabulous time participating in our annual Jog-a-thon. What a fun way to raise money for our fabulous PTO! We can’t wait to see what our total amount raised is and how it can be used to put back into our school!
