AP Language and Composition News
The end of the year is approaching...
On exam day, students should arrive at LAHS by 7:50 am to check in for the exam. Students should bring an old-fashioned analog or digital watch, water, and a healthy snack for the break.
After the exam, we will spend a brief lesson examining the phenomenon of the musical "Hamilton" and its popularity. Starting on May 16, we will begin our college prep unit. Students will begin working on their college essays and Ms. Black will come into our classroom to explain the process of using the Common Application. Since students have already taken their final exam, their only requirement at the end of the year is to turn in two drafts of two personal essays for their college applications.
Summer programs
The Santa Fe Council on International Relations is sponsoring a youth camp in Santa Fe in June. Over the course of a six-day summer camp, Global Youth Santa Fe participants attend sessions dedicated to various global awareness topics and workshops focused on building intercultural and leadership skills. Participants meet with established leaders in international affairs and understand how global issues impact the Santa Fe community. This integrated form of leadership building ensures that each youth identifies his or her strengths as a potential leader in the community and feels empowered to create change.
