The President Ponders
Happy New Year to my Beta Epsilon sisters!!! It is 2015!!! Can you believe it? NOT Me!!! As I said in my last article “TIME” just goes by faster and faster! I sincerely hope that each of you had a wonderful holiday and had the opportunity to enjoy “TIME” with your family and friends.
Unfortunately, most of you know, I lost my grandmother on December 30th. It was not a very happy holiday for us, but I am so very thankful that we had the opportunity to spend day and night with her before she passed. Our hearts were broken but it was reassuring to know that she was no longer in pain and walking the streets of gold with our Heavenly Father. I thank each of you from the bottom of my heart for all the prayers, visits, cards, e-mails, etc. that you all sent. It is wonderful to know that I have a group of women that I call “sisters” who truly care about me. I also want to say, “thank you” for your patience with me as I have tried to lead our group. Thank you for understanding that I needed to spend time with my family.
On a lighter note, a new year always marks the beginning of new resolutions! I challenge each of you to make resolutions this year that are not your “typical” resolutions. I challenge you to really think about what you can do to help our organization grow and become stronger. What commitment are you willing to make to be more involved in Beta Epsilon? My resolution is to grow our organization and to build more leaders. I want us to learn more about one another and continue to support one another personally and professionally. I want us to become a strong and vibrant organization that others can look up to. So, I ask you, what are your resolutions and goals for Beta Epsilon in 2015?
With love and excitement for 2015,
Your Sister,
Shaunda

We Are Launching the Dream! By: Dr. Judith B. Carlson, Foundation Board Chairman
As is said in Peter Pan, “Come with me where dreams are born and time is never planned.” It is an exciting time as we await IRS approval, the final step toward the realization of a long-anticipated dream. Much of the excitement is the tremendous sense of energy within each region of Eta State as the 100 Challenge invited chapters to participate in the initial “launching” of the dream! The Foundation Board members, along with Eta State 2nd Vice President, Connie Savell, who fosters the accomplishments within the Regions, are delighted with the awesome response from members who are willing to generously support this initiative. The progress is marvelous and we have until March to accept this Challenge and share in the successful outcome!
Complementing the 100 Challenge is an Educational Foundation Board of Directors who are currently and actively seeking pledges. Each Board member is charged with obtaining pledges from three contacts outside of Delta Kappa Gamma by March 15. We are taking our role seriously and doing what we are hoping others are doing! Building our lists, drafting letters of request and making the connection beyond our Society will expand awareness of who we are and what we are about. We are accountable to our membership, and we want you to take pride in the fact that “together we can make a huge difference.” Let's all unite in this partnership and accept the Challenge. Every day is a good day, and the future is what we do to make it so. Merry Christmas and a blessed holiday season to all.
Presidents Take Note: Pledges for The 100 Challenge are due March 1 but please send them to your Regional Director as they are made.
