KMS School Counseling Newsletter

December 2015

Wrapping Up 2015

It's hard to believe we're already in the month of December! Counselors at KMS are hustling and bustling supporting student's academic, social, and career developmental needs.

Student Grades and Attendance

PowerSchool seems to be running smoothly again after several weeks of limited access. Be sure to continue to check your student's grades and attendance and reach out to teachers to address concerns prior to the end of 2nd quarter. Keep in mind that students enrolled in semester-long electives will receive final grades for those courses at the end of 2nd quarter/1st semester on Wednesday, January 20th. Having students in school on time every day is crucial to their academic growth. Parents of students who have excessive absences will receive letters from counselors/administration and can be sent through the truancy court process. Please contact attendance secretary, Ms. Christa Stokes for questions.

2nd Quarter Guidance Lessons

Counselors visited classrooms and presented 2nd quarter guidance lessons on various topics. Here are links to our 7th and 8th grade lessons.

2016-17 Student Assignment Letters were sent to the school and will be delivered to students in 1st block before Winter Break.
