The Falcon Flyer
For The Week Of: 9/20/21-9/24/21
Dear Rock Hill Schools Parents,
It has come to our attention that some of our students are engaging with a new internet trend.
The “Bathroom Challenge” also known as the “Devious Lick Challenge” or the “Bathroom Vandalism Challenge” on TikTok is encouraging students to post themselves stealing from school or damaging school property – particularly in bathrooms.
We hope you will talk to your children about the consequences of damaging school property or stealing from their school. Any student who is found to be engaging in destruction of school property or stealing from school will be held responsible through our district code of conduct policy and with local law enforcement officials depending on the offense.
Vandalism and theft are considered criminal conduct and are Level III offenses according to district codes. Criminal conduct consequences can include contacting law enforcement, out of school suspension, assignment to an alternative school, expulsion, and restitution of property and damages will be sought by the school authorities.
Additionally, breaking doors off of stalls or sinks off the wall and destroying soap dispensers is dangerous and could result in an injury. We do not want any of our students to be harmed because they chose to participate in an internet trend. We appreciate you taking the time to talk this over with your student.
Thank you for being an engaged part of this community.
