Check Out Mrs. Patton's Article!

Stephanie Patton attended an educational leadership conference this summer sponsored by Delta Kappa Gamma and had an incredible experience. The professional development was so exemplary that she wrote an article about it for their newsletter (see p. 9 on the link below). After reading what Mrs. Patton says about the sessions, I think many of you may want to attend this next summer. I would only dispute where she said had two days notice about switching grade levels (it was more like 5-6 days). ;-)

Constitution Day

Constitution Day is Thursday, September 17. All classes are expected to learn about the U.S. Constitution during this week in September according to federal law. Below are some websites to help you find ideas if you need them about how to incorporate the Constitution into your classroom. The old high school civics teacher in me is fond of this day and I hope you enjoy School House Rock's version of the "The Preamble". I am always available to come sing it to your class too that is if you want a very off key and slightly painful to hear version. :-)
School House Rock -The Preamble

Beginning of School Trainings and PDPs

Below is the link for the BOY videos just in case you still need to view them. Also, be sure after you complete each BOY item that you sign off on the Google doc on the Fletcher resources page. Thanks to everyone who has already completed everything!

Remember that PDPs are due September 11. You must write SMART Goals: S=Strategic and Student Centered M=Measurable A=Attainable R=Results driven T=Time Oriented

Make sure you see a green circle beside your self-assessment and PDP so you know you've completed each step. Once I've signed your PDP, you will receive and email and then you will need to sign your PDP as well.
