7th Grade Field Study Updates
October 31, 2018
Welcome!
We are so excited about our upcoming field studies. Please read below for details regarding Friday's field study and our upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.
November 2, 2018 is Expedition Kickoff!
Students will be traveling around Lexington and Harbison to collect data about where our clothes are made. Students will use this data to examine the costs of the garment industry and global economies as a part of our 7th grade expedition. They will be using the data collected during tomorrow's field study to complete a project in Math class and build background knowledge for the remainder of our expedition.
If your child still needs to turn in a permission slip, please have them bring this tomorrow. If your child remains at school on Friday, they will be supervised by 7th grade teachers at school and will be completing lessons. Students on the field study will not be responsible for these lessons.
We are looking forward to a great learning opportunity on Friday!
Sorry we missed you...
There was a Washington, D.C. parent meeting held on October 30, 2018. If you were unable to attend, please review the attached presentation. This will give information about cost, a sample itinerary, payment options, and chaperone opportunities.
This is an awesome trip for students that always culminates in our 7th grade veterans project (completed in the spring). Students will be learning more information about this project as the year progresses.
