Hello returning and new Cub families!
For those new to Haymarket ES, our monthly Haymarket Happenings newsletter is a great way to stay connected with the many things going on here at HMES throughout the year. I am going to keep this message short and sweet, but please ensure you are monitoring your email and social media (mainly Facebook at this time) for all things Haymarket! Leading up to school I will be sharing more and more information as we plan for another successful year of working together for our most important stakeholders, our students!

Summer School Laptops
If you haven't already picked them up, they have been delivered to your child's summer school location (for most of you that will be Tyler ES). Our awesome tech team got them all set up and delivered so they are ready to use on Monday!
Kindergarten Cub Camp
We started a new tradition at HMES last year...Kindergarten Cub Camp! In the past we simply had parents bring their rising Kindergartener into the building for a quick, informal 1-on-1 assessment, but we felt that gave us limited information. From August 8th-10th (9:00am-11:30am) we will have teachers and other staff hosting this Cub Camp to get to know our new Cubs even more. Kindergarten parents - please be monitoring your email in order to sign up. This is completely optional!
Lexia Use
Don't forget that Lexia is available for use over the summer! Students can access it through Clever. This is a great way to continue learning throughout the summer...and don't forget to set up opportunities for your child to write over the summer also!
Open House
We will be utilizing a little bit of a different format this year so you as parents are a little more informed about the classroom BEFORE the school year starts and not in October when we typically have Back to School Nights. Keep August 18th and/or 19th on your calendar so you can drop off supplies and hear from your child's teacher about the upcoming school year.
2022-2023 Teacher Information
At this time, your child's teacher assignment will be uploaded and available in ParentVue on Saturday, August 13th. We will not be sending letters/postcards out again this year.
I registered...now what?!
Our amazing registrar, Mrs. DeBoer, checked everything we had back in June. In the coming weeks she will be circling back around and will be in touch towards the end of July if you are missing anything.
